Steak in Red wine

Ingredients

 

500gms lean stewing steak

250gms mushrooms

1 med onion

Or

175gms shallots

1 clove garlic

1 beef stock cube

250ml Red wine

1 tablespoon flour

Salt & black pepper

 

Method

 

Toss steak in seasoned flour.

In a non stick pan, sprayed with Fry Lite, seal the meat.

Remove from the pan and set aside.

Fry the onion and garlic until soft. Try not to brown too much.

Add sliced mushrooms and fry for a few minutes.

Put the onion and mushrooms into a casserole dish add the steak, wine and 500ml of stock.

Cook until meat is tender. (1-2 hours)
